12th and the LAST SLOG

It is actually quite depressing to read the last slog of this course. 

CSC104H1 one of those courses that I did not want to study at all at the beginning of this semester. 
But CSC104H1 is now one of the courses that I had so many fun over the course of this semester. 

Though I know that this course is only a beginner's course in Computer Science. But as a humanity student.  I am actually quite proud of myself for finishing up this course with understanding of the materials. 

Computer is one of the essential in our daily life nowadays. It is totally worth the time to study computer science. With the help of technology, it can prove human-being forward and create a better world for the future generations.

11th SLOG

In this Slog, I really would like to express my appreciation for this Wikipedia assignment. 

Over the past 5 years, I have been using Wikipedia at least once a week, but it never occurred to me that I should contribute to the site, and help editing. Though my contribution might not be perfect and accurate enough, but I am still glad that I can make a change in this universal site.  

By do this assignment, I actually learned quite a lot about the system of Wikipedia by reading all the guidelines on the site. By applying my limited knowledge in computer science, I finished all three parts of the assignment. 

Honestly, to me, the point of doing is not for the grade anymore. I would actually like to engage in more to the site. I really find it very interesting, and practical. I hope that my other course would have this kind of assignment as well. :) Thank you Professor!

10th Slog

There has been three weeks since I posted a talk in the Wikipedia page. 

I was really excited to be involved in the Wikipedia Community and was waiting for a reply ever since. 

However, I am very disappointed that no one has replied me after three weeks. 

I understand that there are million pages on Wikipedia to edit, so it is reasonable that no one might actually see my post over there. 

I hope I can get a reply soon and start making more changes. 

9th slog

Project 2

Doing it with a partner again this time. As always, having a partner can share the burden of this assignment :)

We tried to start the assignment the week before, but it is pretty complicated that we both are stuck at the second part. 

Fortunately, there's office hours that we went and asked for instruction, and finished the whole project.

Though I don't know how it would turn out, but hopefully it would be okay:)

8th Slog

Wikipedia assignment III!!! This is definitely the best part of the whole Wiki-assignment. 

For Part I and II, they are just a plan, But when I finally get to make changes, it is a whole new experience. 

Of course, it is not as easy as it seems. 

I was very disappointed when I found out that one of my article has been locked, and I could not make any changes. But it is fortunate that I have four articles in total with different edit requests, so I can still work on my other three pages. The copy-editing part is quite easy, basically it is just a proof-reading, and then make the minor changes in the editing page. 

But I had some difficulties in editing one of my chosen article for adding an lead-section, and this is when I got to get involved in the Wikipedia-community. :))) Can't wait to get feedback from other members.

7th Slog

Finally finished the mid-term and project one... though Wikipedia Part III will be due this Friday :(

I am a little disappointed with my Mid-term result. Without getting the test back, I know I did just so so. Just hope that doing well in the assignments bring up my overall grade :)

There are only six lectures left and that's it for this course. Time just flies so fast. I hope to learn more about Dr. Racket before the end of this course. I just find it very interesting and practical. 

Never thought that I will like computer science that I am considering to talk a one more computer science course next year. :)

6th SLOG

Project One. I find it quite complicated. 
I am glad that I have a group mate. We tried to do the project together, but still we struggled in many parts. 
The definition and check-expect part are quite simple and straight-forward. But the Ecosystem is quite an obstacle for me and my partner. 
We are both not very bright in computer programming, and we tried our best to it. At the end, we still can't pass all the test. 
The bright is that we still have one day to figure things out, and we can still ask the TA for help. Hopefully we can put things together and finish the program before the due day.
